Question / Help File not loading after recorded

i've had this problem a lot where i record something and then it doesn't load. any help ?

that is VLC and the file is an mp4. i also don't see any other button apart from the ones that are shown on the top left and the settings button on the bottom right after clicking on the three dots

the file is corrupt i think and i cannot find the File button literally anywhere,, please help :(

If you recorded directly to MP4 without remuxing then yes, the file is likely corrupt due to an unclean shutdown. Record to an intermediate format like MKV instead which is crash-safe.

okay. do you know how to uncorrupt the file? and if i do switch to mkv would i still be able to view it?
