FFXIV Mac Gameplay Audio Capture

Hello, Friends.

I've been capturing alright using iShowU for my desktop Audio & Video.

There's more than one audio source that doesn't get recorded (or even read by OBS in the feedback screen,) but, for the sake of this post: it's FFXIV.

The others are like Facetime and regular phone calls through the mac .. But, I'll save that for another post.

Been looking for a solution for this FF audio issue, but, couldn't find any. I'm updated to the latest Catalina MacOS and OBS and A Realm Reborn FFXIV.

iTunes music is fine, Youtube is fine, clicks, media control sounds, and a Focusrite audio card for mic or instrument inputs are recorded fine through iShowU.

I could only stream FFXIV video; by capturing the whole desktop screen. So, not a window capture either. (No urgent need for this.)

I appreciate your help.

Thank You.

To anyone interested in the answer if they've encountered the same problem.

I figured it out!

I had to rewire all my audio devices all over again via Audio MIDI Setup.

Turns out it is an actual FFXIV problem. The game doesn't respond to change in Audio Devices very well.

Whenever I made any audio device changes, the game either mutes gameplay audio in one of the devices or turns it on.

I've updated to the latest iShowU Catalina-Compatible version and that triggered why it's been acting weird.

This problem still exists when changing devices; even after the update. The solution is to restart FFXIV every time you change an audio device.

I change audio devices through the usual mac System Preferences.

Also, through Sound Control by Static Z Software.

It's problematic either way.

Anyway, I hope this helps.

Thanks!
