Feeding OBS Cam and VB-Cable Audio into Teams Live Events from within Windows 10 Virtual Machine

Hello - I have seen many similar threads about how to feed OBS camera and VB-Cable into Teams Live Events. On my local machine I have successfully set this up so that OBS scenes with video sources play through the web camera into Teams LE, and the audio from OBS is fed through to LE via the VB-Cable. It works great and looks great. THANK YOU!

My request may not be an OBS-specific post, but so far this forum has proven very informative to me and I am sure I am not the only one with this issue.

The problem arises when I set this exact set-up in a Windows 10 Virtual Machine (we do this because on the day of our event we want to make sure we have no connectivity issues with home networks; if we get booted from the VM it continues to play the video recording in OBS through to the Live Event; buying us time to log back in). I have Teams downloaded with OBS and VB-Cable set up exactly as I do on my local machine. HOWEVER, the audio does not feed through so that attendees can hear. I did modify the RDP Local Resources to allow for remote audio playback on remote computer.

The workaround is to continue with my exact set up, share my OBS Camera AND within LE select SHARE > select Include System Audio > and select any item to share (window or desktop or app). The audio plays through and the screen share does not because in LE the camera share supersedes the screen share. HOWEVER, this makes the video just a bit blurry. Not awful, but not crisp (see attached image).

Anyone have a resolution for this? We are not live streaming anything. Everything is pre-recorded and loaded as scenes in OBS.

Hi JGayle, any update on this? We're currently running into the same issue, although only on a local machine pulling in guest speakers through a separate Teams meeting. Teams seems like it's auto-ducking their audio somehow when we pull it from the Teams Meeting > OBS > NDI Line as Mic in the TLE. We can see the audio registering in the TLE when Line (Newtek Audio Device) is set as the Mic input, but somehow it still gets cancelled out in the actual TLE attendee link. Damnit Teams! We're working on workarounds now and I'll post back if we have any luck.
