OBS Studio works great for me to able to create scenes, set two videos into them and switch between speakers and layouts during the playback in order to record a finished video that looks great.
BUT. There is no way to coordinate playback. I would love to be able to say "start this media when I click on scene" and "start playback at X:XX" That would enable users to setup a scene where the media started, but no other scene would start or restart it. And allow a user to keep media synchronized without having to start the beginning each time.
Also, having all the media controls visible rather than just the one you click would be very helpful. If there were 4 videos, you could just set the playback head at the same spot using a master control, then hit play and they all start at the same time, at the same spot.
This would help make OBS a great resource for editing podcasts that are recorded on Streamyard or Riverside after the recordings are done. Yean, those platforms have built in speaker focus tools, but it takes a 3rd person to operate them in real time.
