Hello,
First of all, thank you for making such a great software! I primarily use it for recording gameplays and it works wonderfully. There are just a few features which I would really really appreciate it if it could be implemented into software.
1. Continue Recording after Replay Buffer.
The current problem is this. I set the replay buffer to 5 minutes. Usually this would be enough. However in some of the games I play for example Witcher 3, sometimes the cutscenes + dialogues + action (which I want to capture) would exceed the 5 minutes mark. Because this is my first play-through, I do not know if this cutscene or dialogue would turn out to be something I want to record or not, that's why I use the replay buffer feature (so if it turned out to be a boring cutscene, then I won't have to record it and go delete it later). In the case where it turned out to be an interesting cutscene but exceeds the 5 minute buffer, I would have to record that 5 minute buffer AND start another record until the cutscene finishes. So this leaves me with 2 video clips for 1 long cutscene which I really would prefer not having to go search for the clips and edit/join them later.
So if there is a hotkey/option to continue recording directly after the replay buffer finishes, then this would be extremely good!
2. Recording Status Icon
The problem is sometimes when I press the record hotkey inside a fullscreen game, it doesn't trigger the start record. I have to press the hotkey 2 times to start the record. And sometimes it works on the 1st press. Because I only have a single screen, I don't really know if OBS is currently recording or not. So maybe something like an overlay with a recording status icon would be nice to have. I've checked the plugins section and noticed one called RedDot, but unfortunately it doesn't work with x64 version yet.
3. Filenames
If it's possible, I would really like the saved output video filenames to have the name of the game that I'm playing in it. Better yet, if there is a way to save it automatically to a new folder, that would be really nice. For example, I play Witcher 3, CSGO, Dota. Right now I have to make 3 different OBS profiles for each of the games and select them prior to starting each game. Each profile has the video save path as C:/video/Witcher3 || C:/video/CSGO || C:/video/Dota... What I would like is if there is only 1 video save path, but OBS can automatically create a new folder (folder name = the game or fullscreen application that it's capturing) and put the recorded video files inside there automatically.
I've checked the filename formatting, but I couldn't find any options to include the name of the window/full screen game. [%CCYY-%MM-%DD %hh-%mm-%ss]
I'm really sorry for the long wall of text, but I hope you can find the time to implement these features in the future! Thank you!
