You can already do this, instead of using display capture use window or game capture. This will only capture the certain window or application that you select.

Imagine you capture your game. And then you add donation animations, your webcam, you "current song", your sub-notification etc.
Then you stream all that.
Now, you can also record to disc at the same time, but all that added stuff also gets recorded.
The question here is: can we make a separate recording of ONLY the game.
The answer is yes.... sort of. There are several ways:
- If you record a console or separate Game-PC via HDMI: get two capture devices, one for OBS, one for local recording :)
- If you record locally or can't go for the double capture devices you can:
* Attach an extra monitor
* Rightclick the source in OBS that you need -> Full-screen projector -> select extra monitor
* Start a second instance of OBS
* Record that monitor
If that extra monitor is HDMI you can use a capture device as well. That might also save you some CPU-usage. Costs more of course.
