From my thread here I learned from Suslik V that OBS forces 4:2:0 encoding for certain hardware encoders. My request is for OBS to use the Color Format setting which would be consistent with how Nvenc works. I would also request this for every encoder that is capable of 4:4:4. If possible I think BGRA or RGB encoding should also be enabled. 4:4:4 chroma or RGB records full color information for every pixel and can make a big difference for text or anything with sharp edges. QuickSync 4:4:4 Chroma encoding not working
Hey folks, this seems like a recent issue. I think 1 or 2 years ago, OBS was able to record using the Intel Quicksync encoder in 4K and 1080p with 4:4:4 color. But right now, with multiple processors of different generations (12th gen, Meteor Lake, 10th gen Xeon), it looks like it's no longer...
