Question / Help FB Live Buffer Issue At Start Of Video

I'm streaming to Facebook Live. I have 2 scenes I'm outputting:

1) Image (thumbnail)
2) Recorded Video using media source

I'm using Studio Mode, start the streaming in OBS with the thumbnail displayed, start the streaming in FB Live, after a few seconds I transition to the media file which is set to begin playback at the beginning when active.

When the scene transitions to the media file, it briefly starts paused. I can see the video but for a second (maybe less) it's paused and then begins. When it begins, the audio plays for a second or so while the video is still paused and then things catch up.

Any suggestions on how to fix this? Only thing I can think of is to edit the video and include the thumbnail there but that's less than ideal.

Couple possible ways:

I'm guessing you're using a Fade transition, and what's happening is that OBS is completing the fade between your thumbnail and the first frame of the video, and then starting playback.

So the quickest way to solve may be to use a Cut instead of a Fade, so the video starts playing immediately.

If you want to keep the fade, I would edit in a fade from black into the video, and add a blank scene to your OBS setup.

Then to start, I would fade from the thumbnail to black, and then fade in to your media source, which would do the OBS fade into your black frame, and then play the video, which would fade in from black.
