Fan keeps going every time I use the software

Hello,
I'm using a macbook and my iphone for the video capture (to do reaction vids). Got it all set up and everything's working, except after a few moments of using the software, the fan starts to go haywire and I have to stop before my macbook over heats. I've tried changing the settings like lowering the encoder presets, etc. and deleting stuff from the activity monitor and making sure nothing else is running but nothing seems to work. Is there a special setting that will help or something? I'd appreciate any input.

OBS itself doesn't take much juice, but the amount of data that you're pushing through it - live HD video - does. You need a better computer.

By the way, are you actually monitoring the system temp? Or just hearing the fan and freaking out from that alone? The fan is fine, as long as it stays cool enough.

The fan on my rig starts quickly and keeps running the whole time, and my temps plateau between the fan threshold and the throttling threshold, well away from either one. So it'll do that all day, with the fan running the whole time.
