Question / Help Failed To Start Streaming

Afternoon,

Never had any previous problems with OBS, but this morning i woken up, updated all my drivers and graphics card to the latest. But when going to stream and go live i get a pop up message saying the following:

Failed To Start Streaming
Starting the output failed. Please check the log for details.
Note if you are using the NVENIC or AMD encodera, make sure your video drivers are up to date.

Anyone else had this problem?
I watched youtube video, some guy suggesting it is the ram, but it is not the ram, as i have hardly any programs running and using it up, i have plenty of ram also.

I am having the exact same problem, right now.
I am streaming with x264 and my recording settings are set to NVENIC, but I never record with OBS at all.
I also tried setting the record-settings to x264, as well, but it didn't make any difference.

I went to the log and found those two lines:

12:55:48.753: LoadLibrary failed for '../../obs-plugins/64bit/obs-x264.dll': (null) (126)
12:55:48.753: Module '../../obs-plugins/64bit/obs-x264.dll' not found

Everything worked until today - I updated to version 20.1.2 and I get the same error like OP.


I still have the installer for v18.x.x. Going to test if it still works with that version....

I have tested the v18.0.1 of OBS and it still works with that one!
Most likely 19.x.x and maybe even the earlier versions of 20.x.x will work, I guess.

I'm attaching my log, now, even though it's not my own thread.
Nevertheless, I have the (seemingly) exact same problem and it might help.

Don't worry about it not being your thread, just glad am not the only person having this problem, no offence.

I tried everything that i know, even tried changing the settings. I always use the x264 then changed it to NVENIC x264 as youtube people saying try this. However this still does not work, even when changing the recording to the same settings.

Now i have lost the x264 option in pull down of the Setting>Output>Streaming>ENCODER

The update is unfortunately bugged, 20.1.3 will be released soon to correct this.
