Question / Help Failed to start recording

Hi, new to the forum, and I've tried a lot of the posted fixes, but I might've messed things up even more.

I'm trying to record a window of Illustrator and using the Window Capture source. Initially I got the infamous black screen, but now when i press Start Recording OBS just pops-up a Failed to start recording because the output failed.Full pop-up here. This occurs when I tried Display Capture too, but the log is from a Window Capture test. I have a Windows 8.1 64-bit laptop system and an AMD Graphics chip that I've gone into the settings to force power-saving graphics, both through AMD's Catalyst Control Center and through Windows power plan.

The log is here: https://pastebin.com/7yc6Dfty

I've made sure to check for updates to the relevant drivers, but it still doesn't seem to do much, so if anyone can point me towards what I might need to fix, please let me know.

The Quicksync encoder complains about some invalid parameter but doesn't tell which one. The only thing I see may be the horizontal resolution of 908. It may be that Quicksync requires a resolution dividable by 8 or even 16 - 908 is only dividable by 4. Try a multiple of 8, and if this doesn't work either, try a multiple of 16.
