Question / Help Failed to start output (NVENC encoder)

Hi, i have a problem on starting to record (failed to start the output). Here's the log.

In output settings, i selected NVENC as my encoder, Birate is 2500 (default?), GPU is 0 (default?). Also, i have geforce experience and geforce game ready driver installed. They are up to date. Besides, in the NVIDIA control panel, i selected OBS Studio to use the High-performance NVIDIA processor in the "Manage 3D Settings" section. Finally, i have NVIDIA CUDA Toolkit 9.1 and its patches installed. They are all up to date. Of course, OBS is up to date.

I have NVIDIA GeForce 940MX and Intel UHD Graphics 620 installed on my pc.

My problems are:

• Neither adding any capture source works for me (Display capture, Window capture and Game capture are tested that they DO NOT WORK). They all display black screens.
• When i press start streaming/recording, it says failed to start the output. This happens for any source listed in the bullet point above.

Any help is appreciated. (I watched over 10 threads, wikis and videos and did what they did, but OBS still does not work with NVIDIA graphics card)

The 940MX variant with GM108 chip and 384 shaders does not have nvenc capability. You seem to have this variant. There is another variant with gm107 chip and 512 shaders that seems to have nvenc.
In doubt, your chip hasn't nvenc.
