I came back to OBS after six months or more when I hadn't used it and got the above message. Looking online it seemed to be a simple matter of updating NVIDIA drivers - I have a Geforce 710 video card. I got to NVIDIA and got the installer for the latest drivers which included a bloated NVIDIA Experience thing which several of the 'solutions' I found told me to use. It doesn't let me install any new drivers - I have the latest ones installed. Restarted the PC several times. Still can't record in OBS - I get the same message. I've looked at some threads here which mainly just advise you to update the drivers.
