Question / Help Failed to initialize video: unspecified error at startup

I just installed OBS studio on my linux mint 17.3 cinnamon computer and i get an error saying "Failed to initialize video: unspecified error" upon launching the application
My current system specs are:
Linux mint 17.3 cinnamon version
32bit OS
2GB of RAM
CPU clocked at 1.73 Ghz Intel Celeron M with 1 core
258 or so mbs of dedicated GPU
Intel Corporation Mobile 945GM/GMS, 943/940GML Express Integrated Graphics Controller
Linux Kernel: 3.19.0-32-generic

Your system is too old.
I dont think its that. I can run modern screen recorders on the system like Frapps and XSplit and they record fine. It is giving me an error that I believe is linked to my graphics card. Not saying you are wrong at all just saying I think the error is because of my graphics card or something.
EDIT: I ran obs in the terminal using "Sudo OBS" and got an error saying "error: device_create (GL) failed"
so I just need a better graphics card

OpenGL renderer string: Mesa DRI Intel(R) 945GM x86/MMX/SSE2
OpenGL version string: 1.4 Mesa 10.5.9
Yes, I know it is a very old version of OpenGL. I have no idea how to get a new version of it, however

Actually, that model of video card doesn't have hardware support for higher.
So your system is indeed below minimum system requirements for OBS.

weird... Before I installed linux mint on the computer I was able to record with OBS just fine...
