I have to delete all folders within obs-studio each time I want to stream which isn't fun. It resets layout as well as all sources and settings.

"Failed to initialize video: Invalid Parameters" is the error I am met with. Here is the log for attempting to start OBS-M. https://gist.github.com/anonymous/7123dbb2cce15418f6e4

Intel Core i5-4690K Processor 3.5 GHz
Nvidia GTX 970

Okay, let's see what's going on.

When you're getting this error on startup, before deleting it to reset, do this for me:

1.) Press windows key + R and paste this in: %appdata%\obs-studio\basic\profiles
2.) Go to your profile's folder (untitled if you use the default)
3.) Open basic.ini with a text editor
4.) Find these lines in the [Video] section and tell me what they say: BaseCX, BaseCY, OutputCX, OutputCY, FPSCommon

BaseCX=1024
BaseCY=1280
OutputCX=1024
OutputCY=0
FPSCommon=60

And the odd thing is, I can stream with zero stutter at these settings, but as soon as I change that zero(OutputCY=0) (makes no sense, I know) I lag/jitter the whole time. It sets itself at that when I change the default resolution to 1280x1024 (I stream CS:GO Stretch 4:3).

This should be fixed in 0.13.0, your log says it was 0.12.3. Could you try 0.13.0 instead? (Reset your settings first before doing it though)

Now I am unable to stream in a stretched resolution, unlike previously. It seems that the aspect ratio will not update when I change res's. Any ideas what to do?

When you type in a different output/scaled resolution what happens? I'll check on my end, if I find anything unusual I'll make sure to fix for the upcoming hotfix.

I'm not missing anything, you are.

The specific Y value I'm pointing out is ZERO.

One dimension being larger than the other is irrelevant. Look at all the videos people upload from their phones that are vertical.

Yes I am. But you give me a clue. The text was copy pasted from basic.ini (no spaces), so the width & height really was set wrongly (vice versa).

Edit: And cannot be reverted back in any way because of "rights", "read only" and so on. Maybe delete will help?

It works, but I can no longer have my stream be broadcast in 4:3. There are black bars on both sides.

4:3 will always black bar in players on twitch/youtube/etc because those players are 16:9 optimized.

Well that happens when you set the resolution to something other then a 4:3 aspect ratio.
Or if the player is 16:9.

Fixing it at the moment. Will be fixed in 0.13.1 (The stretching issue)

I experience the same problem after modifying the resolution. I don't know what resolution. But how can I fix the problem Also this topic is old
