Facecam freezes when Fortnite round starts.

Hey, I've recently been having the following problem. When I start a round in Fortnite, my camera (Sony Alpha connected to an Elgato Game Capture HD60 Pro) suddenly freezes. This only stops when I quit Fortnite. Restarting OBS or disabling and re-enabling the camera in OBS doesn't help either. A few websites suggested that the anti-cheat might be the cause. It works fine in ALL other games. It always did in Fortnite until now. I hadn't played it for a while, but I started playing again because of The Simpsons. I hadn't played it for at least 3-4 months before that.

I've already updated OBS, but without success. My graphics card and the Elgato software are also up to date.

What could be causing this? I can't see anything in the log. The analyzer isn't showing any problems with the settings either.

Maybe one of you sees something more or has encountered this problem before.

P.S. I've already tried DirectX 11 and windowed mode/monitor capture. Same problem.

Regards, Toastfalter

The problem seems to have existed for quite some time. According to Reddit, Fortnite's anti-cheat system, and also Rocket League's, causes the issue with internal capture cards. I've been spared this problem until now. There are Reddit posts that are already seven months old where Elgato was looking for a solution.

I've now bought a Cam Link and am running it via USB, and it works.

I reinstalled Fortnite, checked for capture card updates, tried screen recording... nothing helped.

It might work after the next Fortnite update. This way, I was able to fix it for now and am safe for the future.
