Our church is two weeks into live streaming on Facebook. This Sunday, we used OBS running on a new 16" MBP in a clean user account with an ethernet internet connection at 10 mbps upload. We are capturing via an Elgato HD60s and using OBS to add our soundboard mix and stream to FB. During multiple tests throughout the week and before the service on Sunday, we had a rock-solid stream at 3 mbs and 30 fps.
Throughout the service, we had repeated times of dropping lots of frames or losing video completely (via FB's "Stream Health"). In an hour-long test today, it was solid again. When we noticed the problem, we decreased our video bit rate from 3000 kbs to 1500 kbs, but we continued to have the probelms. I don't even know how to start tracking this down. Any ideas? Is there a way to know if it is our problem, Spectrum ISP, or Facebook's?
This photo was taken as the problem was getting started. It got much worse, sometimes going 30 seconds wihtout any video uploading. I just noticed that the audio bitrate is spiking up really high. It's set at 128 kbs, so I don't know what's going on there.
