i have used other ez cap software and not all drivers / parts are the same.

for that price i would suggest an elgato camlink. to me this is the best solution for mac, even better then a hd60s.

what i like about camlink is it has built-in audio drivers so you don’t have to mess with soundflower or any third party application to get the game sound, unless you want to hear it to. but i find that i can mix the levels and then check everything live when i start.

the camlink is a little different than a campture card; it’s bascially an adapter that makes whatever hdmi you plug into act as a “camera” source. you can then add a audio source and chose camlink as well. this to me is the biggest fU loophole to the whole elgato doesn’t do mac audio drivers gripe about the hd60. becuase it works so easily with a camlink witch seems so much less of a piece of hardware than an hd60/s. However, becuase it is picked up by macOS as a camera source, it seems to have more features that work with obs fresh out the box.

check your markers, i got new one on amazonnow for less than a used one on ebay. had it by dinner time ready to go.

i currently have a bunch of things plugged into an hdmi splitter that goes to the cam link. a retron 5, and a bunch of other retroware plugged into a hdmi converter / upscaled (ps2 n64 and a dreamcast) as well as hdmi to lighting adapter for iOS capture off my iphone7. it all plays through the camlink capture. sound is flawless.

the best part, only oBs is running when i stream. i do all this off a i5 macbook air which i think the gen 4 i5 witch i have, is the baseline minimum for camlink to work.

i had an old ezcap and was installing so many beta drivers before it would work. it was even marketed as a macos version.
