Question / Help Extremely long delay

I installed OBS and attempted to connect to a Wowza Server that I have experience with.
Settings are purposely much lower than what my computer and network can handle
  • Video bitrate - 200
  • Encoder x264
  • Audio Bitrate: 15 FPS
  • Audio Sample Rate: 44.1 Mono
  • Encoder Preset: veryfast
  • Stream Delay: Not enabled
When I stream with Flash Media Live Encoder or with Quicktime Broadcaster, I have a delay of 5-7 seconds in between when I talk, and when the users see me.
When I stream with OBS, there is a minimum of 35 seconds delay, and usually more than 45 seconds.

I tried on three macbooks, each in a different state and with a different network. Behavior is the same.
It is not a server issue (I assume) as FMLE and QTB don't have the delay.

How can I lower the delay, it is currently not usable for live streaming!

Thanks.

At a video bitrate of 200 and a CPU preset of veryfast, you're asking OBS to spend a long time to compress each frame. User a faster preset and/or a higher bitrate.
