I recently upgraded my system from:
i7 7700k
EVGA SC GTX 1080ti
32gb corsair ram @ 3200mhz
msi gaming m5 mobo
to
2950x
EVGA SC GTX 1080ti
64gb HyperX ram @2933 mhz
msi gaming pro carbon x399
This was originally meant to be a 4k editing work station (which does perform very well), however while recording in OBS frame rates usually drop significantly, even at a super low bitrate of 10,000 my frames barely go above 10-14 while set to 60. I've tried recording in Lossless, CBR, VBR ec. and tried both the H.264 encoder and the Nvenc encoder but both provide laughable results.
I probably just have some settings wrong but I would certainly like some help
One important detail I think might be part of the issue: I installed the new Threadripper CPU without reinstalling Windows, could that be the problem?
