Question / Help Extreme Lag using AMD VCE to record

I have a Radeon RX 480 8GB and I have been using Radeon Relive to record my gameplay until I discovered OBS and decided to switch to it for its flexibility and more friendly editable parameters, but I am getting very extreme forms of lag whenever I record with it; I could record 1080p60 easily without hiccups on Relive but on OBS, the framerate drops drammatically in the video and slightly in the game whenever I hit record. I lowered output resolution, reinstalled with no success, and I wonder if I am doing anything wrong here,
