Hi , i have been having problems with the sound coming into the OBS software.

I have tried using
1. A digital mixer
2.Live streaming with an Android device

In both cases , OBS fails to pick up the sound coming in.

The indicator only pics up the laptop mic.

We tried installing obs into 4 different computers and laptops

-Mac book Pro
-Lenono
-Acer laptop
-Dell computer

All of them have the System requirements, but the sound from the Mackie DL32S digital mixer in not being recognised.

Please help.

Thanks

"check If OBS has permission, go to Windows Settings > Privacy > Microphone and make sure OBS has permission."

did the setup with the usb channels etc still nothing.
This may or may not be the issue - not enough detail to tell - but OBS really doesn't like multichannel interfaces! If it isn't already, can you set the mixer to stereo on USB? Might need to reboot the mixer before it takes effect; my Behringer XR18 works that way.

Originally, OBS was made for the stereotypical bedroom streamer, that has a surround-sound game and a mono mic. That's it. So no channel selection, only device, and each entire device is assumed to be a single source with a surround format determined by the channel count. OBS downmixes that to stereo, or whatever you set in Settings -> Audio, and THEN gives you that mess to try and make something of. Depending on which channels you're trying to use, it might be close enough, or completely unusable.

If you can't set the USB connection to stereo, then you'll need something in between to do the channel selection, and present OBS with only the stereo pair that you want.
