Experiences with OBS Multiplatform (Win8.1)

I just tried out OBS Multiplatform, and the first thing I've noticed is its near-native support for my capture card, the AVerMedia Live Gamer Portable. It can display the video perfectly and utilize the HDMI audio from it as well, it's just that it stutters at random points, but it doesn't happen all the time. The only solution I can come up with is a hardware solution that replaces the mic jack on my laptop, but then again, the capture card itself also has two headphone slots, input and output, so, there's a chance that I can utilize that for the mic.

However, if that doesn't work, I would need a standalone microphone to remedy the issue. Is there any way I can fix the audio stuttering from the capture board from software? Or do I have to resort to the hardware solution?

You need to use Stream Engine from AVerMedia, which can be used only with OBS MP 32 bit, not with 64 bit ATM.
In my case that was the only way to get rid of the stuttering.

My goal was to avoid the LGP Stream Engine as it has issues with Skype... I know the original OBS absolutely has to have it, but I don't like how the LGP Stream Engine works and how much CPU is needed, which is why I'm seeking native support for it or close to it.
