I have a 2011 15" MacBook Pro with High Sierra and a 2015 13" MacBook Pro with Mojave. My 2011 machine has been running OBS fine with the obvious limitations for its age. My 2015 machine struggles with lag and frame rates. I believe MOJAVE might have something to do with it. MOREOVER, the latest OBS 25.0.8 update made it VERY slow on both machines, with 0 FPS output in some cases, so I went back to previous versions and all went back to the "normal" I mentioned at first. Better performance on High Siera than Mojave. Also, running EpocCam for using an iPhone as a webcam on the Mojave machine is very unresponsive. Much better on the 2011 machine with High Sierra.
I know my 2015 machine lacks a dedicated GPU while the 2011 has one, but the 2015 machine has slightly better Geekbench scores nonetheless.
Summary:
1. I'd love to keep updating OBS to the latest versions, but so far, the recent 0 FPS experiences that have surprised me wile broadcasting live prevent me from doing so. Earlier versions like (25.0.7) are not showing this issue.
2. Mojave might have some issues with peripherals and overall performance.
