EVGA XR1 Lite | Color Issues (Crushed Blacks or Washed Out)

Hey guys, recently upgraded my cheapo $15 capture card for a EVGA XR1 Lite. I am using the capture card to record console footage. Out of the box default settings are very dark with crushed blacks, though according to EVGA's own OBS setup video the defaults are supposed to work just fine with this "Certified for OBS" capture card.

I have tried messing around with the Color Range in the capture card settings, but changing off default (which is Partial) to Full cause the image to look very washed out almost like a nasty film is over the screen. It also seems to smoothing out "noise" in the picture. I tested using Potplayer(which is what I used with my cheapo capture card for recording) and there is some imperfections/noise in the image that looks like has been smoothed over in the OBS recording. This noise is present in the Raw footage when im just playing the game normally.

I would rather use OBS since Potplayer is has been unreliable on saving Recordings but I also want the best 1:1 image i can capture... and hopefully i can get that with the OBS Certified card.

Image Comparison

OBS Default Settings
OBS Full Color Range
Potplayer

Note the noise by the arms and hands in the Potplayer recording, that is present in the Raw gameplay but not in the OBS recordings.

Thanks.

After talking to EVGA tech support I ended up sending the card back and buying a new one...and still have the same issues.

I am able to use the OBS filters to fix the dark level only if I set the capture card to Full Range. If i set to partial i get crushed blacks and lose a huge amount of detail that cant be fixed with color correction.

I still notice colors being very pale though. There is a richness that i see in the raw image that doesnt exist after passing through the capture card.

Here is what that looks like.
