I had a fully working setup the lats time I used it, a few days ago on both EOS100D and EOS6D. Came to use it today and NOTHING can "see" the EOS webcam utility as a selectable option. My exisiting OBS scene that had EOS Webcam utility now has it greyed out...
NO I do not have EOS utility installed (i deliberately UNinstalled it)YES I have tried different ports cables.. etc etc youtube google canon sites blah blah blah
YES I update webcam util to 1.1
YES my cam firmware x2 is latest... so please please please no switch it on an off again" type answers :) I'm pretty adept wiht computers and cameras etc and I have been battling this for seveeal hiours and tried EVERYTHING and every combination of everything, not foegetting it was working flawlessly for the past 6-8 months till a couple of days ago, and *I* have not actively or deliberatley changed anything.
I think this is a very recent problem and I suspect a specific cause (Windows10 updating stuff "in the background" without ever telling me)
Both of my cameras have suddenly started appearing in explorer - I swear have never seen them there before. Device manager shows them as MTP devices, which - again - I swear I have never seen before.I'm sure (as with android etc they should NOT be in MTP but the equivalent of PTP mode)...I'm convinced this sudden change to appearing as MTP devices is what is stopping the webcam utility being able to "get hold" of them and thus no longer being available as an option.
I need some way to prevent them doing that. unintalling pointless they just reinstall... disabling stops them even being seen at all...driver is Msoft from years ago, no other options, I have no drivers to replace them with; attempting update tells me they the latest I JUST WANT IT BACK THE WAY IT WAS 3 OR 4 DAYS AGO!!!
Anybody else got this or got any ideas?
