I only stream in 720p at 6000kbps.
After getting accepted into the 1440p beta, I played around with the settings for a few hours.
Enhanced broadcasting forces your 720p streams to about 3500kbps, which makes everything look like a pixelated mess.
I could barely make out my face in the camera when the action is moving too fast on the screen.
I was hoping to be able to stream 720p at a higher bitrate, while getting the benefits of local transcoding for 480p and lower resolutions.
Unfortunately, only resolutions higher than 720p can go over 6000kbps.
Honestly, I do not care much about 1440p or 1080p at the moment, because the image doesn't look good in motion.
6000kbps bitrate is nowhere near enough for a high quality 1080p stream.
After awhile of playing around, I found a workaround.
Adding a few pixels and making the resolution 1296x728 gets you 728p at over 6000kbps bitrate!
The added bitrate adds a lot of clarity to the image, getting me a similar result as how I was streaming before enabling enhanced broadcasting.
This is far from ideal, however, since my screen resolution is 1440p, and it's no longer perfectly divided by 2 when downscaling.
Does anyone know of a way I can manually edit the bitrate if output resolution is only 720p?
It seems like the resolutions and bitrates are hardcoded somewhere.
