Hi guys,
Been using OBS for a while now, and have a unique enough situation that I need some expertise to weigh in.
We just got a Livestream account, and I'd like to upload our OBS-created 1080p videos to it, but their file uploader downgrades them to 720 (they're working on it, but it's not stable yet in 1080p). However, I can stream them in 1080 which they archive as 1080, so I'm considering playing saved videos into OBS as media, and streaming them to LS as a workaround. It's time intensive, so I'd be picky, but for some footage it would be worth it.
Here's where I need the expertise:
1) How will re-encoding a video for streaming affect video quality?
2) If I ever need to do this again, are there any settings to tweak for increased save quality or minimizing potential issues in re-encoding?
Here's the settings from a video we saved last week:
File: 1.09 Gb, .mov
Duration: 55:13
Size: 1920x1080, 30fps, audio bitrate 128
Codecs: H.264, AAC
Encoding Software: Lavf56.40.101
If there's other specs needed let me know; I appreciate the help guys.
