Question / Help Encoding overloading since 'Auto-Updater' update!

Hey there guys!

I am not having a fun time with OBS Studio lately, and it's got me bummed out. I don't have the fastest computer, it's out of date, but since last year I have had no trouble streaming on reduced settings using OBS or OBS studio. I prefer Studio, but the recent update to include the auto-updater has got the program not even able to run on my computer.

I didn't touch my settings, and I even recently upgraded my internet connection. I get 30up/30down and stream at a clean 2500-3000 (I downgrade to 540p) with no losses. Typically if I had issues with a game streaming at 30fps in OBS I would drop to 20-25 FPS and things would run clean.

Since this update I can't even get the encoding errors to stop happening from the second I join a server and start rendering anything but the home screen of games. I didn't want to cast blame on the OBS update but I have literally tried everything else. I've run Windows admin tools for a week now multiple times (sfc /scannow, DISM /RestoreHealth, MemoryDiags, HDD diags, Windows Defender and Malware scanners) and cleaned up any and all errors that were present from my end. There are no viruses/malware, no errors in my hardware, and my Sys32 corruption has been cleaned. None of those fixed the errors in OBS.

The only changes made to the computer when these errors started occurring were the March 14th Windows 10 Pro updates (fixed via sfc /scannow), the update to OBS, and me getting an upgraded internet connection. At this point I can only point to the change in OBS. My drivers are fine and I am getting tired of searching elsewhere for problems.

The auto-updater is broken, I had to manually download the newer version OBS Studio even after getting the version that contained the new update tool. Since then encoding explodes in every game and every frame rate I try to stream at. This is not typical to my computer's performace with OBS or OBS Studio.

I can provide screen shots of setting and the program running if asked, but I was wondering if there were recurring errors throughout the community. I want to stress I did NOTHING but update the app, my settings are identical to what I was okay to stream at for a year now. Please help me, I am at a loss.

There is problems, i have encoder problem and only temporary solution is to give OBS a higher priority, preffered highest of all. But this will make the game run really heavy.

Post a logfile? :´)
