Hello everyone,

fairly new here. This is my first post so bear with me as I try to explain all of this.

I saw 1 or 2 other posts on the forums discussing the exact same problem that I was having. But it's only getting worse on my end. And it seems at first to only happen when I try to record at the same time, as I stream. Which is possible because I've been doing it now for almost a year. No problem, until today really. But now I'm getting around 70% dropped frames according to OBS and I'm just streaming, not even recording at this point. I started noticing a few weird oddities around last Thursday, the 4th I believe.

But the main issue is the encoding overload. It will not go away no matter what I try. I was streaming at 720p60fps at around 3200 bitrate no problem what so ever last week, and even last monday. So I'm at a loss for words here. I've tried lowering settings for it, uninstalling obs and reinstalling, tried rolling back nvidia drivers and it didn't seem to make a difference. But my streams/recording as of right now are at an absolute standstill and I could use some help.

Here's the most recent log from my test stream/recording as well. Maybe I'm missing something? Let me know. Any help at all is very much appreciated.

Thank you,

Same issue here. With no change to my settings, I'm getting encoding overload errors on a game I've played without issue for 6 weeks.
For what it's worth, I tried a couple games in my Steam library. Fez is the main game I play, and it gives me encoding errors. So does Chime. Undertale, Day of the Tentacle and Bioshock Infinite ran with no errors.

T-Lock let us know what you find out. If it makes a difference, I have an i7-6700, GTX 1070 FTW Gpu. So again, shouldn't be seeing these issues. Appreciate the help everyone! And I'm glad to see I'm not the only one.

Hey folks, since we have a ton of duplicate threads on this issue, please move all discussion over here: Encoding Overloaded (no problems yesterday)

Check my linked post, and provide the info so we can start looking for commonalities.

Going to lock this thread to keep discussion on this in one place. Thank you for everyone who is reporting this.
