Question / Help Encoding overload issues

Hey all,

I've been having troubles every time I stream World of Warcraft, but not when I stream other games.
The issues have ongoing for a while now, and I've tried all of the things in the "Start Here" thread, they don't seem to have helped at all.

When the issue happens, my framerate drops through the floor but my audio is fine according to viewers, it occasionally affects the FPS in WoW as well.
I'm not dropping frames, just FPS/CPU usage issues, bitrate seems to be fine whenever I look at it.

Here's my log file: https://obsproject.com/logs/ochTg72Ys5kLqO3l

Please let me know if there's any other information I can provide, I'm open to trying pretty much anything at this point, it's not a very professional look.

Thanks!

Hi all, still having issues, almost every strem now, regardless of game. I've dropped quality settings in game to next to the lowest, and still struggling.
I've just had to restart my stream as it got so choppy the stream just cut out, but I never got a timeout report on my end, just reports from viewers.

If this isn't being caused by OBS, I'd really like to know so that I can take it to Twitch.

4:30:33 PM.250: Output 'simple_stream': Number of lagged frames due to rendering lag/stalls: 3156 (3.1%)
4:30:35 PM.349: Video stopped, number of skipped frames due to encoding lag: 52531/99314 (52.9%)
It is odd that you are dropping so many frames even on ultrafast, but with only 4 cores to run both WoW and OBS at the same time I can see it happening. As a "test" you could try opening task manager and setting the affinity of the cores. Put 2 on the game, and 2 on OBS. Others can chime in, but it sure seems that cpu is too weak to handle both OBS and a serious 3D game at the same time.

Have you tried doing NVENC? While I am having a major problem that is unrelated to your issue, NVENC seems to work fine for me.

I have been trying both software and hardware encoding, but happy to switch and provide another log in case anything changes. I'll also try setting the core like you suggested. Thanks for your response.
