I have a 3.3 GHz hex core haswell, 16 GB of RAM, and a RAID 0 array of two 500 GB samsung SSDs to record to. I am using libx264rgb, rgb as the input method, qp=0 and preset=ultrafast for my parameters. This has worked for a year, but since reinstalling Windows and installing a new version of OBS I constantly get errors like this.
It happens 3-5 minutes into a recording. The first few minutes willbe fine, I will see jittering on the screen, and then it will die. I am never going over 37% CPU while recording. If the CPU can't handle it, I don't understand how it works for 3-5 minutes then dies at some random point.
