I've previously been running OBS with HAGS enabled as this is the only solution I can use that does result in OBS dropping loads of frames and encoder overload when I have a webcam enabled. But every so often my obs will freeze up and I have to restart the program, I assume this is caused by HAGS.
But when I disable HAGS I can only ever use just capture and an alert browser source, if I add my webcam (elgato cam link) I instantly get encoder overload. This happens on NVENC, X264. Whether I cap FPS in game or not. Moment I add the video capture device of my Webcam, instant frame drops, stutter and encoder overload. I've tried a new cam link and it still happens, have tried all the USB ports on my PC and expansion card. Running an i7 13700KF and RTX 4080 so should be more than enough. But yeah for now I have to use HAGS otherwise I can't record with a webcam for my content... Any ideas what else I can try?
