Question / Help Enabling voice chat in iPhone game mutes all captured audio

I am running the latest version of Windows 10, and have an Elgato HD60 Pro with an iPhone 6S plugged into the HDMI input.

When playing Arena of Valor, game audio records fine in OBS until you press the "unmute voice chat" icon in-game. As soon as you do, all audio returns to the iPhone and the phone no longer routes any audio to the capture device, and vice-versa (i.e. mute voice chat in-game and audio returns on the capture stream).

Any idea what I'm missing? Is this a game / phone issue, or something I might be able to get around in my Windows or OBS configuration?

Thanks!

Issue is related to your iPhone. It's reverting to onboard audio hardware instead of outputting over your HDMI connection, most likely because it assumes that it's supposed to be using the phone hardware. You can try to pull up the settings menu to see if you can change it (swipe up from the bottom, it should show the audio output device in the middle), but the change will likely happen any time you activate voice chat as that is most likely programmed to do so within the app.

What you probably could do is use a cable connected to the headphone jack to pull audio. Thankfully you still have one on that phone.
