Elgato HD60X no sound; does not appear in Audio Mixer list

Get video but no audio. HD60X is providing the video that appears and records/streams just fine. But the Audio Mixer list does not include it. When I click on the Settings icon under Audio Mixer, it shows HD60X as one of three active choices. Only the other two (Desktop Audio and Aux/Mic) appear in the list. See screen shot.

I can make the HD60X appear in the Audio Mixer list by allowing all apps to access microphone (must have been turned off by the Windows 11 upgrade). But I still get no sound in a recording, and mixer entry for HD60X shows nothing on the VU meters.

The issue is that I have the 3.5mm line in audio connected to the HD60X from an external mixer. The line in should override the audio coming in on the HDMI input. I mentioned in a previous thread that there used to be a visible check box in OBS Studio 29.x to select the Aux/Line in over the HDMI, and it disappeared in OBS 30.x. I did not get an answer on that thread. Older thread about Line In config

I have an Elgato HD60X as well, and I am not aware of a 3.5mm audio cable being able to be connected into it outside of being able to use it to plug into a console controller like a PS5/Xbox to capture in game chat. I may be wrong, I may have missed something, but that's what I remember it was used for.

This may sound silly, but have you tried changing your "Audio Monitoring" from "Monitor Off" to "Monitor and Output"? I have had what appeared to be no audio coming from my device after an upgrade/update and this was always the issue. Also, what audio mixer are you using out of curiosity if the Audio Monitoring thing didn't solve it for you?

Thanks. I changed to Monitor and Output on the HD60X, but that did not fix it.

It seems that this line in my log files might be important:

[WASAPISource::TryInitialize]:[Elgato HD60 X (Elgato HD60 X)] Failed to initialize audio client: 80070005

Anyone know what to do about that?

Installed XSplit Broadcaster and it had the same problem: video, no audio. So problem is at the OS/hardware/drivers level.

Updated audio drivers. No change in problem.
