Please Help!
Whenever i add the new Elgato HD60 Pro as a video capture device it crashes.
And if it doesn't crash the video either freezes or it doesn't show anything at all (black screen)
I have tried uninstalling, reinstalling and doing the same with the elgato software itself.
I really need some help, i am a full time YouTuber and Streamer.
Any help is appreciated!

Log: https://gist.github.com/d4e23be63c5ae1f0aa1d

As far as i can see that log has no errors/problems. Either way the video freezes and it doesn't seem to work.

I was unable to get the hd 60 pro to show as an option for the video capture device as it will not show in the list for OBS Multiplatform, all that shows for me is the Elgato Helper Device which always shows as unavailable!

I however did point out in the forum section for the standard OBS that using the audio source from the capture card causes random freezing, stuttering and sometimes crashes, so could be related to that..as a test try disabling the audio in the video capture properties and see whether or not that makes any difference

ahh in obs multiplatform its a little bit different and I don't think the audio can be disabled entirely other than to mute which won't make a difference.

I had a look and managed to get my elgato hd 60 pro to show in the drop down box and was useable, and so far have had zero problems with video freezing or stuttering, infact it works better than obs 0.656b (non multiplatform)

have you made sure you are running the 64bit exe? See if that helps?

Yeah i've tried that. I cant seem to get the elgato to show up in the dropdown menu. Thankyou so much for your help though!

keep trying, i;m sure you will get it to show eventually! if it helps at all I had to make sure that (with the console turned on obviously!) try running the elgato game capture software a couple of times whilst OBS mp is running, if all else fails restart your pc after that, try again but running the 64bit exe as an admin.

and no problem :)

i have the exact different outcome, the 12 beta was freezing constantly when trying to start and wouldnt release so any other application thought it was still in use, so i had to reboot the computer every time

the old 0.6 OBS is what i ha d been using all this time and works fine

i do like some of the additional features on 0.12, but not enough to put up with the agrrivation

in fact the ONLY thing that improved is the fact i can mute my windows audio mixer sliders and still have the viewers hearing it at full blast in the new 0.12

i had this same issue, it runs fine in the standard OBS

only problem i have now is when streaming at anything below 60fps it just doesnt look smooth and I cant figure out why, its not taxing my CPU

is there some other option that would create a smoothing effect?
