Question / Help Elgato Game Capture HD60 S freezes after a few minutes

Lately whenever I try to use my Elgato Game Capture HD60 S with OBS the input will freeze for about 5-10 seconds after running for a few minutes (maybe 5-10 minutes). Once the freeze happens, the frame drops severely (I get a frame every few seconds). Restarting OBS fixes the issue for a few minutes and then it starts all over again. Any ideas or solutions would be greatly appreciated.

Below are my PC specs:
Processor: AMD FX9tm)-6350 Six-Core Processor 3.90 GHz
Installed memory (RAM): 8.00 GB
OS: Windows 10 Pro 64 bit
graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960

Thanks,

"Elgato Game Capture HD60 S" is USB 3.0.
The problem might be the USB 3.0 software drivers or outdated USB 3.0 hardware controller on old AM3+ motherboard.
If possible, try a different computer or get a USB 3.1 gen 2 PCI-E x4 card which is for sure fast enough for USB 3.0 devices.

Side point: Don't use 3rd party ANYTHING when it comes to high interrupt/bandwidth devices (like a capture card or your hard drives). So make sure your Elgato is hooked up to an AMD USB3 port, and if those don't exist (and you don't have any NEC/VIA/TI USB3 ports on your computer) get an expansion card like sam686 mentioned.

Same for your HDD/SSD any other stuff. If you hook it up to a Marvell or Asmedia anything, you're going to have a horrible life of issues.
