Making a post here that hopefully you both see, and also for future reference to anyone coming across this. This kind of behavior will not be tolerated.
SumDim, you need to be careful with how you word things. I know you mean well, but while this is "an OBS Studio forum" they clearly stated in their post that they wasn't sure where the problem was, and they were asking for help. We, as the OBS community, are inevitably going to be asked to support third-party devices and services. If you're not comfortable supporting them, please don't respond. The comment itself was blaming the user for not knowing what the problem was, and doesn't do anything to help. A better comment here could have been "Have you tested this in the Elgato software? Does it work there? If so, can you post a log from OBS?" or something similar to try and at least understand the issue before dismissing it completely. Yes, Elgatos can be finnicky devices and there's usually nothing we can do, but we should still try as often times it's a simple misconfiguration in OBS.
TylerGamer84, I would recommend that you try not to take things so personally. Understand that there's a language/culteral barrier for a lot of our users, and many of them mean no ill intent. The immediate jump to an overly defensive position can often times escalate situations that never existed in the first place. Just something to keep in mind in the future!
