I just recently bought an Elgato Capture Card for my gaming videos. Tonight I tested it out. I heard that the capture card itself comes with a 1-2 second delay and that I would need to sync my mic and everything. I didn't want to do this because that would mean I'd have to undo that every time I'm doing a SCREEN RECORDING. So instead I recorded my mic via audacity and decided I would just pair it up to the video when it was done. I thought it would work.
Boy was I wrong. I paired it up to the video, but for whatever reason it couldn't match the whole gameplay. Either the audacity file would lag or the video would lag. It only seemed to lag when I turned really fast (I'm playing L4D2 on Xbox 360). Either way, this very slight lag is a very BIG deal. I had to toss out two hours of commentary and have it be a "no commentary" video. How do I fix the delay? I'd really not like to have to undo any changes in OBS whenever I go to record my screen (not with Elgato). It would be easier for me to record the commentary separate. Is there a way to at least keep the delay consistent? Because it's obviously fluctuating.
