Elgato compatibility with OBS

Hello all,

The brief overview of my setup is:
Macbook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Late 2013)
Elgato Game Capture HD
Xbox Series X

My goal is to be able to use OBS / OBS.Live but I believe the Game Capture HD (old) is currently not compatible with OBS. If I were to upgrade to the Elgato HD60S+ would that get me up to speed with everything playing nice together?

Any thoughts/suggestions are greatly appreciated. Just don't want to go all in on the HD60S+ and then have it not work or regret not trying something different first.

Call Elgato Tech Support...they're very helpful. I *think* older Game Capture HD devices may need an additional bit of software. Not sure if it's the OBS Link or something else.

I use an HD60S+ and it works out of the box with OBS, without any additional software.

I'm not too worried about the extra software if needed to be honest. I just want to make sure my current setup will hopefully have everything running without troubles. I love my Mac but know it sometimes doesn't cooperate with other things lol. That said, I will definitely reach out to Elgato Tech Support! I wasn't sure where I should start so that sounds like the right place.
