Question / Help Elgato audio stuttering after upgrade to 0.13.1

Videophile

Elgato
Try setting OBS's sample rate to 48kHz. It could be that the audio, coming from the Elgato at 48kHz, while being downsampled to 44.1kHz is being messed up.

Just gave that a try: no change.

Forgot to mention this in the OP, but I've already uninstalled and reinstalled the latest drivers as well.

Something else that might help is that the sound is clean when you register it's while you stream that the stutter start after a few secs

El Gato and Hauppauge users... Yes, quite frustrating. I've tried every setting I can using both the x264 and the AMD video encoder. Tried upping and lowering the sound quality. Recording or Streaming.

Each time I use the hauppauge source, sound goes choppy after about 3-5 minutes. And the time factor seems to be cumulative, meaning that if I stream or record for 2-3 minutes, sound is fine. I'll stop OBS, and restart it, stream/record again and the sound goes choppy. So it's always around 2-3 minutes where the sound is fine, then it goes bad. And once it goes bad, it stays bad, unless you reboot your system and try again. Then you get another few minutes where the sound is fine until it goes bad again.

If I try with any video source from my PC, this problem doesn't happen. Also, while the sound comes out choppy from my capture device source, my MIC audio is fine. So this is definitely pointing to something being wrong with the capture device audio source in the app.

I will try to play with Audio buffer settings if there's anyway.

Most of the time it starts OK and after a few seconds/minutes, thing goes wrong.. Will post here if any success

I had this problem with my elgato game capture hd. When I upgraded the firmware to enable 240p for retro gaming the issue mysteriously disappeared for me. YMMV

Could each of you state which specific elgato device you're using? (Though I suppose I can just try each device, there's only 3) ..Anyway, I'm looking in to it.

It's not elgato specific bug, Avermedia LGP has exact same issue with latest Obs Mp version, if roll back to 0.12.3 this bug goes away

Mind coming around and helping debug this issue Se1pher? Not sure how much time you have.

If anyone has plenty of time to burn and who gets this like in the video, could you private message me preferably in the IRC chatroom? (#obsproject on quakenet, nick is "Jim-"). I really need someone with a good amount of free time who has this problem consistently.

I'm using the Elgato Game Capture HD, not the 60 the regular one.

Additionally, I completely uninstalled all Elgato drivers, then downgraded to 0.12.2 OBS and installed the 32-bit drivers and it seems to not be an issue anymore.
