Question / Help DX8 recording support for old games

OBS classis has a (built-in) plugin called Direct Draw, which allows recording of games that run on DX8. Older games such as Command and Conquer: Generals (my favorite) need this to be recorded with OBS.

OBS-Studio also needs this! I cant figure out how to record it, besides using screenrecord, but this creates some flashing images which is very rough.

ps i am also a fan of old games and would sign your request for that feature ;)

This is the only valid use case for using a video capture card in a single PC solution, btw.
