Question / Help Duplicate Monitors with Different Resolutions

Hey guys, I have a question. Streaming/Gaming off of 2 PCs.I am playing on a 1440p 144hz monitor, and have my capture card connected to a 1080p 60hz monitor. When I play without turning on OBS and without duplicating display onto streaming monitor, I get my 144hz, but when I turn on OBS and duplicate my display, my 144hz monitor sets itself to 60hz and 1080p and I can't change it back in Nvidia control panel back to 144hz 1440p. Anyone know the fix to this?

I have sort of the same problem I play my games on a 1080p 144hz monitor and my games look fantastic, and my other monitor is just a 1080p 60hz display. As soon as I bring up OBS it's like my refresh rate is dropped back down to 60hz. When I stream the quality looks just fine, I have tinkered with the settings and have done research on this but, I haven't came across a solution. I just want to be able to play my games in 144hz and stream at the same time. If anyone has a fix I would forever be in debt to you.

Yep, as soon as I start OBS and duplicate my display onto my 60hz monitor, my 144hz limits itself to 60hz and 1080p. Can't find the solution

I had nearly the same problem when I was duplicating my 120Hz 1080P monitor to a 1080p capture card that could only capture at 60Hz. Even though I got my 120Hz monitor to say it was 120Hz, in reality it "felt" like 60Hz. When I disabled the duplication, it "felt" like the normal 120Hz. So even if you can get it to work say its working, don't rely on it _really_ working.

I can't find the thread right now, but I believe one solution was to use the OBS preview screen on the second monitor instead of duplicating it in the Nvidia control panel. This of course requires you to run OBS on your gaming PC, but you don't have to actually encode with it at least.

For me, I just found a capture card that could handle 120Hz input, instead.
