Question / Help Duo Stream

Hello,

I'm very new to OBS and just trying to learn as much as possible. I skimmed to try finding this but couldn't find it posted elsewhere.

I want to start a duo stream with a friend. Our goal is to be able to easily switch between both my gameplay and his. Our pcs are not close to eachother. Is this possible? If this has been posted elsewhere, please link me to that thread.

Thank you

Very difficult. There is no standard solution. Essentially, it means one of you is running the actual stream, and the video from the other one has to be first streamed from him to you, and then you re-send it to the actual stream. How this can be done in detail depends on what you intend to stream, on your network bandwidth, on the devices you use, and probably two or three other things. The biggest issue on the actual streaming PC, and probably not solvable, is the latency between the local video and the video you receive from your friend. There will always be a latency of 0.5-10 seconds between both. Very difficult to synchronize to each other, and to synchronize with your voices.

If you ask me: forget it for the time being. At least until both of you got experience in streaming in general.

Have them stream to game audio/video to Mixer using FTL, and use that as a source in your setup. You should get only about a second or so of delay, which shouldn't matter that much, but you could compensate for by delaying your own game audio/video by a similar amount.
