Hi I'm trying to connect my DSLR to OBS. Visual seems fine, but i can't seem to get the audio input changed to DSLR. OBS is getting the audio input from my laptop instead.

My Log is as below:

Changing the audio settings doesn't help too. Aux Audio devices only has built in and default.

what type of cable are you connecting to your computer?

usb 2.0 3.0 thunderbolt?

also, and i’ve been saying this a lot today, have you heard of elgato camlink. it’s great not just for dslr or gopro webcam, you can also use it with other hdmi devices. the camlink however is usb 3.0 and requires an gen4 i5 min to work.

could be a speed issue.

Hi
I have the same issue where I can't get any other audio input to work other than the built in mic.
I'm using Canon 100D --hdmi-> Blackmagicdesign Ultra Studio Mini Recorder --thunderbolt-> MacBook Pro 2013
I can see the cameras video feed when I use video input device as my source and pick the Blackmagic Ultra Studio Mini Recorder as the input but the same doesn't work for sound when I use audio input device as the source and use the same input. I also can't get any video or sound when I try to use Blackmagic device as my source. I've tried with auto and 1080p 24 which is what the camera says when I record normally but neither work. Maybe there is a format that I should use with my camera but I don't know what the shortenings stand for and wouldn't want to try every combination but I'll try the formats that I get suggested. I have of course also looked for a long time in the audio settings and tried selecting the blackmagic device as my input in different ways without any success so I'm hoping that someone has any idea what I should do.
Any related information could be useful, thanks!

Does it show up on the mixer panel? How do you have monitoring set in advanced audio properties? Did you close OBS after making changes and then reopen?

I couldn’t see it in the mixer. I went to a fancy camera shop in my city and it seems like the problem is that my camera doesn’t transmit audio in hdmi-mode. We tested it with a monitor in the shop and it looks like that was the root of the problem, not anything with OBS. I’ll probably just have to buy a new camera that supports hdmi-audio+video. In the camera shop they said to look for a ’clean hdmi transfer’ where none of the symbols and grids and all that follows to the other screen. That’s an easy way to know if it’s adjusted for hdmi output and if you’ll get audio.

I was getting almost a second of delay when I was using audio through BM
Get a rode video mic pro. You can use it on your camera for better audio when filming and you can plug it into the mic jack on your computer for streaming
