Question / Help DSLR as a webcam including chroma key

I use a Canon EOS 600D and like to use it as a webcam including a greenscreen / chroma key.

I read many articles and watched many videos, however I could not find a solution.

1) Most articles show how to use the DSLR as a webcam by capturing a Live-Window of the camera in OBS (i.e. from a program like EOS Utilitly). This works, but I cannot implement the capture as a "webcam-source" in OBS and thus cannot use chroma key. Or is there a way to use chroma key in this case in OBS?

2) Software like ManyCam or SparkoCam are no freeware and thus limited in the demo or test versions.

What would help is maybe a programm that generates a "webcam" device in my system settings or something similar.
Maybe one of you has an idea?
Thank you very much for any idea.

Thank you Cryonic!!
This sounds great with the capture card. Do you have a special product recommendation?
They seem to be pretty expensive.
Withregard to the link: yeah, this works similar to the EOS Utility stuff.

I understood in the meanwhile that I can use the filter of normal recordings as well.
Would be handy however to use the Camera as a "Webcam" immediately in OBS. Not sure how to to this still.

The guide that i linked tells you how to set it up.
There are other guides out there, google it. Generally every modern Canon that supports the EOS Utility should have the same settings, so dont focus too much on the 600D while searching for guides.

When it comes to capture cards - Elgato and Avermedia are two major gaming brands, mostly designed to grab the HDMI out from a console or graphics card, but every camera with HDMI out will work fine.
If you want to go a bit more professional, Blackmagic Design (and their Intensity series of capture cards) is a good start and it goes all the way up to Magewell (some of them are more expensive than your DSLR body).
Blackmagic Design would be my recommendation, it is stable, is better suited for cameras and offers more than just an input. Decent chunk of money, you have to think about it.

If you want to save some money, you can usually find Elgato and Avermedia cards used in your area or on ebay or craigslist, just look around for them - i saw a few between 30-50€ here. If you live somewhere deep in the desert, it might be tricky to find one^^
