Question / Help Dropping frames

Hi me and my partner both stream at the sane time. Sometimes i get dropped frames due to insuficiant bandwidth connection. Ive tested the conection and its fine while the dropped frames are occuring. Could this be due to my router bottlenecking my upload? If so would a better router help?

If you stream both at the same time, make sure the combined streaming speed of both of you does not exceed the upload of your internet connection. You also have to count any upload bandwidth the game you're streaming uses and any voip traffic both of you may use at this time.
Your router may show a "used bandwidth" value or graph, but ususally this is only a very rough number. If the combined upload speed of both of you exceeds the upload speed of your internet connection, you're getting lost frames at the same moment.
If both of you are streaming via wlan, it may very well be that the wlan is the bottleneck and not the internet connection. In this case, use LAN cable.

Thanks for the reply were both wired. I tested the conection when both live and we had 10mg left to spare thats why im leaning twowards the router

Ive noticed an issue when i have my web cam on it causes gane capture to stutter this happens on both obs studio and elgato software. It stops when i start to stream i think maybe this might cause the frame drops and lag stalls.

My specs should be able to run both
  • Intel® Core™ i5-7300HQ processor
  • RAM: 8 GB / Storage: 1 TB HDD
  • Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 2 GB
  • Full HD display. Im also wondering if any if the windows 10 updates are causing issuse which ill have to check later. Ive tried lowering frame rates and resolution it didnt help, the stramge thing is when i hit record i can see the jitter/lag/frane drop but when streaming it goes away on the preview. When i record and can cleary see an issue is obs studio dosent repirt any dropped frames in the log or lag stalls.
