Question / Help Downscale difference? CPU vs GPU

Hi...

i'm wondering if there is a quality difference when you are doing a downscale with CPU vs GPU?..

according to some research i have done... you can do downscaling in 2 different areas.. Output and Video...

Where "output" is handled by the CPU, and the "video" is handled by the GPU, And you should only do 1 of them.. not both.

- correct me if i'm wrong..


but my real question is if there is a quality difference between the two of them.. if you leave all the other settings the exact same..

I'm pretty sure they are both GPU. Always scale in the video tab it looks nicer and runs faster. The rescale output in the output tab should only be used if you wanted to record and stream at different resolutions on the same profile.
