My understanding is that monitor only plays back the audio from a/the device to your headset - (default device)... so would it be playing what's already playing in your headset back through your headset. So essentially the exact audio that's already playing in your headset is looped and matched up right over your current audio so that you are essentially listening to whats playing through your headset twice but perfectly aligned so that it sounds like just one source?
I know that it mutes the output to the stream, but is this any different from just pressing the mute icon on headset (default) desktop audio so that it doesn't go to stream?
I'm curious because i want what I'm listening to in my headset to be muted to stream and there are two options to do this. One where i can see the meter going (monitor only - mute output) or press the mute button (removing the meter display).
So i guess I'm curious how the monitor only code actually functions when selected for your listening headset device. and if monitoring uses more cpu
Thanks!
