I have tested this thoroughly after realizing what the problem is. On steam for Dota 2 'DLC' there is "Dota 2 - Vulkan Support" which has proven to be a better in-game render for fps/performance reasons. I was testing it out today and was setting obs studio up after I reformatted last week, when that DLC is enabled/downloaded/installed and "-vconsole -vulkan" is included in the launch parameters to use it, obs studio cannot pick up Dota 2 in Window or Game Capture, in fact, very weird things happen in this case, it will show obs or it will show steam, but only a still picture, they will not update. (You can do Display but that's not the point here.) If you remove the launch parameters (this is enough to stop it from using Vulkan) then Dota 2 is able to be captured on both Window and Game Capture.
